June is almost here, and the 2013 swimming season is progressing well. As mentioned last week, we have been running a part time lifeguarding course at Wotton Pool to qualify some new lifeguards to work at the pool, and they have now finished! We have trained 8 lifeguards this year, aged between 16 and 50, which means that we have been able to help people in the area to develop skills that make them employable, as well as maintaining a pool of skilled staff to keep Wotton Pool operational. They have now been presented their orange shirts by Pool Manager, Karen, and IQL examiner, Brian Shaw.
