Local company Rio Pools is getting on with the Wotton Pool tiling job
We are closing a day early this autumn to get the pool ready for it being tiled for next season.
Anyone passing Symn Lane over the Christmas holidays might have been surprised to see people walking around up high behind the fire station. Well don’t worry, it’s not ASBO kids, we’ve been working hard in the cold rigging up a state of the art solar heating system for the water in Wotton Pool.
A grant from the Summerfield Trust of £8,600 has been confirmed and will enable the solar water heating system to be added to the new roof.
We've had another splendid season and have closed in mid September.
Some major developments have been planned for the 60-year old changing rooms at Wotton Pool and these plans received a major boost earlier this month when a bid for funds from the Cory Environmental Trust for Britain resulted in an offer of £32,400 towards the project.
At 2 pm on April 22nd we are opening the gate for another summer of swimming... and there are some more developments. Read on...
In a quick Christmas distraction from the exciting developments of the changing room here is something 'completely different'...
An application for permission to construct a new veranda with views looking out towards the Severn, a new shelter and a roof extension as well as other smaller modifications and repairs has been approved by SDC
We are holding our annual public Meeting on Monday 7 November at 7:30 in the Wotton Civic Centre. This is the opportunity for the townsfolk, who contribute (about 25p per week per household) through their council tax to the running costs of the pool, to have their say about how things are going. This year we are planning to give some details about the major refurbishment and minor extension to the changing rooms.
