In the middle of summer we will probably not need it because we get sufficient solar heat to minimise the amount of off-peak electricity we use. But at the beginning of the season (March and April) when we are warming up the pool – for the lifeguard training and the limited Easter Holiday opening – there is very little sun and so the majority of the heat input is from the electric heater. And the nights are colder. So that means the insulating cover could be very helpful... We shall see.
