A tri-al and a half

Once again the tenacity of the Wotton tenants was tangible on Sunday morning at the twenty eleven Wotton Triathlon. The rain was torrential, but despite this around 50 triathletes turned up early on Sunday morning to take on the elements and tackle the thirty lengths, twenty one km cycle and 7km run around the tors and gorges surrounding Wotton under edge. The triathletes were supported by a terrific team of volunteers at every stage of the trial, standing in the torrent, directing the traffic, warning cars, taking numbers and times, collecting bikes, and of course, the much needed cheering and shouting support to the drenched triathletes. Thank you Denise and Gideon for organising the event, thank you all the stewards, lifeguards, timers, length counters, supporters, directors, medics and everyone else who came along to help in spite of the terrible summer weather. Congratulations everyone on a very successful and almost enjoyable event! Miss Minnow Results now online at
