It's getting close to that time of year again. Wotton Triathlon this year is on Sunday 23 June, and this year, this charity event is entirely in aid of Wotton Pool. Wotton Triathlon club is a thriving organisation, with many local people running and cycling together, and attending a weekly, pool swimming session, with some also swimming in Cromhall Quarry regularly to practice their open water swimming (as Wotton Pool, at 28 C is nothing like cold enough!!). Their experience is useful, but the hills on the route of the Wotton triathlon bring different challenges to even the most experienced triathletes. But Wotton Triathlon is also a great event for complete beginners (although they may need to train a bit first!) It is a friendly, community event, with huge amounts of support from the hardy spectators, marshals and organisers. Entries for 2013 have now closed, but if you still want to be involved, the organisers are looking for marshals to help out on the day.
